KUNCIGAMBAR | Penang

Penang, situated at the northern part of Malaysia even though one of the smallest state in Malaysia, can provide us with a lot of scenic views, historical buildings and of course, FOOD! I mean, a lot of them! Some of the food cannot be found anywhere else. And if we could find it, taste it and eat it, the food is not as same as one that you can find in Penang. Pasembur, Sotong Kangkung, Jeruk Buah Pala, just to name you a few are very delicious and hard to be found somewhere else. Enjoy!
 food's heaven : Penang, Malaysia :-)
 Pasembur..makan jangan sampai tersembur!
 Sotong Kangkung (Wah!!!)
 Jeruk here, Jeruk there...everywhere Jeruk!

 The landmark - KOMTAR

Merdeka 55 @ Segamat

Bringing students of F2, F4 and F5 to Segamat District Merdeka Day Celebration at Padang SJKC Li Chi, Segamat. Our 100+ students were required to march while holding red and yellow coloured flag. We were there starting from 7.30 am and the ceremony ended aroun 12 noon. Luckily, it was Friday. If the celebration falls on Saturday, we might be spending more time there.

 The flag barriers (yellow team)
 The Red team
The Kesatria UiTM Brass Band performing their show
Choir team - represented by the Segamat Nursing College trainees

MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!
Undoubtedly, we are proud of who we are.
We are proud to be Malaysian. We will always make Malaysia proud of us.

Weekends' Pleasure :)

The English Language

Have you ever wondered why foreigners have trouble with the English Language?

Let's face it
English is a stupid language.
There is no egg in the eggplant
No ham in the hamburger
And neither pine nor apple in the pineapple.
English muffins were not invented in England
French fries were not invented in France.

We sometimes take English for granted
But if we examine its paradoxes we find that
Quicksand takes you down slowly
Boxing rings are square
And a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

If writers write, how come fingers don't fing.
If the plural of tooth is teeth
Shouldn't the plural of phone booth be phone beeth
If the teacher taught,
Why didn't the preacher praught.

If a vegetarian eats vegetables
What the heck does a humanitarian eat!?
Why do people recite at a play
Yet play at a recital?
Park on driveways and
Drive on parkways

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy
Of a language where a house can burn up as
It burns down
And in which you fill in a form
By filling it out
And a bell is only heard once it goes!

English was invented by people, not computers
And it reflects the creativity of the human race
(Which of course isn't a race at all)

That is why
When the stars are out they are visible
But when the lights are out they are invisible
And why it is that when I wind up my watch
It starts
But when I wind up this observation,
It ends.

Balik Kampong Day 2

It's morning @ Kuala Besut, Terengganu :) while waiting for the rest awake, my dad, my sister and I went to the Besut town. We had our breakfast near the jetty to Perhentian Island...
Original Burung Walid Nest. They're chirping; flying happily :) feeling the morning breeze from the ocean
Breakfast [fried mee hoon + fried egg + hot black nescafe]
10.00 am - heading to Kuala Terengganu for Chukur Jambul and Eid Celebration there.
today's special [nasi briyani / nasi daging / nasi minyak + dalca + ayam masak madu + papadom].
We arrived there around 12.00 noon~~
 The Chukur Jambul ceremony...

Finished with the Chukur Jambul, around 4.40pm, we went to Pasar Payang, K.Terengganu ^__^ to buy Budu~!!

the weather was hot & dry. so, Air Batu Cendol & Air Nyior (Coconut) were the only remaining choice~
Arrived at K.Besut around 7.00pm and at 9.00 pm, we 'bakar' the satay~
 "Letak, bakar, angkat, hidang...habis..." fuh!!

2nd day at kampong, but didn't really spend the day at kampong. huhu.. well, as we grew older, there are things that we need to cope with.

I really miss my 2nd kampong which is Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan. The place where I grew older as a man; as a teacher and as a student. It's never easy being a student-teacher in Kota Bharu Teachers' College. Friends, foes, lecturers, lovers, haters and cheaters are the experiences that I got when I was there. Alhamdulillah...now, I am a teacher. like saying goes, Experience is the Best Teacher.
